Reread this today, after reading about the fancy restaurant ( can’t remember the name to put that in.)

Ah! I like getting more of this story.

I believe Ross, about what happened instead of going to the prom with Rose. It is the kind of thing that happens… when a family has means enough to make the charges disappear. Ship that boy off to school…

But not attending prom. That’s a lot like leaving a bride waiting at the altar… At least it is in the moment, for a high school girl.

I see how the relationship has gotten to this point.

It was the worst thing I could think of to happen to Rose at that time in her life.

There will be more stories coming up for Ross and Rose.

It's never too late to make amends and try again. The future holds promise. A nice story, Bill.

This is a good one. Though I enjoy reading lots of the things you write… saying that, I’ve not been present on Substack for a bit. Lots going on, but none of it bad, just that reading for the fun of it hasn’t been something I could do. It’s good to know that you’ve undoubtedly got a library of good stories to read when I can reenter this world more completely.

Rose’s Cafe. I read this one several times, as there is a lot going on in the interplay between these characters, a past and a present, and a potential future.

I like that you didn’t put who was talking in the interchange after Rose did her typing on the tablet, but initially I had the speakers confused. It didn’t make sense… but did when I reversed who I thought was speaking.

I think the writing looks cleaner and seems more true to a conversation without labeling who is speaking.

Thanks for the story.

Thank you for reading and your positive words.

I agree with your observation about dialogue. It does lead you to a good give and take discussion.

Being busy isn't a bad thing but it does take up time to do other things. Hopefully it will ease for you soon.
